Love Sonnet

All memory of former passion pales, Lost in the timeless echoed breath of space; Now a comet writes with its endless trails A vaporizing image of your face.

I see but you as if the stars were gone, With but the moonlit likeness to enhance The midnight sky and the approaching dawn Through your celestial eyes and steadfast glance.

This treasured vision my eyes wish to keep, Holds me spellbound to this dream’s illusion Of a beloved face that haunts my sleep As break of day becomes an intrusion.

Stand shadowy now in my path of light; Beloved silhouette and heart’s delight!
